Intro

Origins and Name (2014):

The corporation was founded in 2014 by a husband-and-wife team, with the wife named Vandra. It started as a low-sec corporation based in the Great Wildlands. The unique spelling "Hiatees" (Hades with an 'I') was chosen because the standard name was taken; it derives from the Greek spelling of Hades.

Early Days and Rise:

The corp gained early notoriety through featured news articles about its fights, often over Player-Owned Customs Offices (POCOS), led by skilled pilots known as the "lodgy bros." They built a reputation as a tight-knit group that punched above its weight.

Joining Razor and Leadership Drama (2015-2016):

The Hounds joined the Razor Alliance, staging in Tenal in the north. During this time, the original founders decided to return to low-sec, but many members wanted to stay. Through a corporate meeting and subsequent drama involving share mechanics and a payment to the founders, member Mitch Kepler (Mishio) accidentally became the new CEO to keep the corp together. The founders left to form "Helms 2.0," which later died out.

The Casino War and Razor's Collapse (~2016-2017):

During the massive "Casino War," the Hounds experienced the rapid collapse of Razor, discovering its strength was a "paper giant." They were among the last to defend Razor's space before being forced to evacuate to Perrigen Falls.

Turmoil, Moves, and a Tragic Loss (2017-2018):

The corp experienced instability, briefly joining "Blades of Grass" and reconciling with Razor before ultimately leaving for "Just Let It Happen" in Tenal. A perilous, interrupted move resulted in capital ships being trapped in a hostile Keepstar before a daring escape. After conflict with Pandemic Legion (PL) forced them out of Tenal, they settled in Insmother with "Hell Pirates." During this period, the corp suffered a profound real-life tragedy with the passing of a beloved director and friend, Rex. This loss deeply affected the tight-knit group and contributed to a decision to go on hiatus in 2018, with members scattering to other Imperium groups

Reformation and New Home (2023-2025):

In October 2023, Mitch and an original director, Reaper Tears, decided to reform the Hounds. They made a promise to anchor an in-game memorial for Rex. They found a new home with the Shadow Ultimatum alliance in the Imperium, based in Esoteria (later moving to Feythabolis). The reformed corp successfully rescued a Sotiyo (an Outpost) from hostile space and moved it via wormhole to their staging system as a permanent memorial for Rex.

Current Identity:

Today, the Hounds of Hades are rebuilding, recruiting, and maintaining their core identity as a close-knit, familial corporation that punches above its weight in fleet participation. They are active in Shadow Ultimatum, focusing on community, mutual support, and creating content together.
